International Design

Egyptian

I really like this Eqyptian design. I think that it looks really nice . i really enjoy the drawings inscribed on the bottom of the flower holder. One thing that really makes this place stand out are the colors. I really like this style and i wish we would have that style here in the US because it is very neat.

Mexican

This is an Example of Mexican design. I think that Mexican design is very different that our design we have in the US. I really enjoy this type of design because of the bright colors, also the tiles on the walls are there to help keep the houses fresh and cold during the summer since there is no air conditioning in Mexico. I think that the tiles serve as a double purpose they are used to keep that house cold and also give the a nice touch. One thing that i really admire about this type of design is that most of the time it has some kind of history behind it.

Japanese

This is a Modern Japanese home. They create their style very different from ours instead of having big thick insulates walls they have thin walls because of their mild climate, along with curved overlapping curves because of the early rainy summers. A big part of Japanese construction is Timber because it allows air in during the long humid summers , one bad thing about this design is that they can easily be destroyed through earthquakes and fires. I think that this is a great design even though that the materials are very thin and doesn't have much insulation as the houses here, i think i really do like about these houses is that they are Eco-friendly meaning they don't cause much pollution due to materials.

International Design

Designers

The design above is a wonder design. I think that this design goes very well with the environment around it. I like how the living room is enclosed and had the stairs right next to the living room, usually that does not look so great but with this i think that it looks good just because the room its self is very lighting, the furniture isn't dark which really helps the room not look dark. Overall i think that this design in wonderful and the designer did a great job with this room.

Graham Viney created the design above i think that this designer wanted to go for a more classical look as appose to a more modern look. Unfortunately i don't like this set up at all. I think the that Plates on the shelves take away from everything else. I really really don't like how it looks. it doesn't really make anything stand out.

The design above created by Hendrix Allardyce is very interesting. I think it is very interesting how they chose to put a big floral arrangement on the table that covers have a mirror. I really enjoy this layout it makes the place seem very elegant and attractive and appealing to the eye. overall Hendrix Allardyce did a wonderful job in creating a design like this one, if i had a change to hire someone do design my living room this would be a person i would strongly consider.

Richard Neutra did a wonderful job on this design. even though that this design was Target more towards a vintage look rather than a more moder look. I really like how everything is set up, i think that the color change in the furniture is really great. i really like how two of the couches are one color and they third is another color. I really like how every thing is gathered around the fire place and there is one lamp. Overall this is one of my favorite designs thus far.

Kenya' s Elephant watch camp is an environment that i dislike. I doesn't look great at all. It almost looks like someone deiced to throw a bunch of things together at once. I hate how they have multiple colors it makes the room very bright it hurts your eyes., also it looks messy, The only thing i do like about this set up is the actual chairs and tables by itself with no cushions, I think that instead of having the cushions on the chairs they would stand out the most by them self

Mariette Himes Gonzales did a wonderful job in designing this space. I think that even though all the walls are the same color and look plain in white it works great for this setting because there are other colors that substitute the purpose of what the color of the walls would do. I really enjoy how there are only a few painting hanging on the walls and only 2 things on the table. They white Curtains on the wall make the white walls stand out more.

The design above was created by Jan Showers. I personally dislike this design for the simple reason that it looks old fashion. I don't like the way the furniture set up and the frames make the living room look cluttered . I personally don't like the furniture chosen for this living i think that they could of done something more exciting rather than boring and dull. this living barely has any colors to it which also causes it to look very dull and boring.

This design was created by William Hodgins, I really enjoy this design because there are a variety of colors in this room. Usually variety of colors don't make a room stand out but in this case i think that every thing looks great together. I really enjoy seeing the different in the shades of brown . I like how the middle part of the table and they stripes of the chairs match. Overall i think that William Hodgins did a wonderful job when doing this design.


This looks like an article in a Ralph Lauren spread. I think that this kitchen looks great i really enjoy that color combination. The openness of this kitchen really makes every thing great. I think that the white color also makes the kitchen more revealing and makes every thing looks great. This kitchen is really big and the colors also make everything look more wide and bigger.

Graphic / Media Design

1.A Simple way to bring happiness to a person with out spending much money is getting a Card, the simply express how you feel about them or says something nice in the inside that always bring a smile to someones face no matter what. There is more to a Card than just the meaning behind. I think that when we look at a Card we first judge it by it exterior, for this reason i think that if you want to make someone say Awww... i think that the card should be nicely laid out and should have everything flowing with it. This is the reason i really like this card above, it makes to want to just stared at the front of it without even opening i can see that it has something meaning full inside. I really enjoy the swirls and the hearts. i also really like how the creators of this card decided to just put one line of words at the bottoms that really allows the drawings on top stand out the most.

2.Another kind of card that can really brighten someones day is a funny card. I think the just by looking at the cover of this card even though it does not have much on the cover i still think that it works very well for its purpose is doesn't take away from the inside which in this case i think it is the important part of this card. Also the pink sign and the foot prints are there to give you a clue and to hint you on what to expect in the inside. overall i think that everything on this card works very well with its purpose.

3.Isn't it funny how a simple candy wrapper can help you make a choice in deciding which candy to buy? I think that most of the time we grab stuff off the shelf because it is appealing to our eyes. a good example of a wrapper that really catches our attention is the M&M wrapper, i think that not only the yellow color but the logo on it is very well place and it doesn't have a lot of thing such at writing or pictures on it, that really gives it a clean look. Personally i will always go with the candy that has a good looking wrapper and looks neat just because i believe that the candy inside the wrapper is delicious.


4.This water label looks very plain it does not have much of anything it looks plain to me. I think that the deer and the mountains add a nice touch, but i also think that it should be a different color the blue color doesn't go well. I don't understand why they made it blue instead of another color. What is the blue suppose to represent? maybe the dawn? i don't know. Over all I don't like this label. I usually judge the taste of water by the label , if i don't like the label i wont get the water it just seems boring.


5.Unlike the order water Label i really like this one, Even though that all water is healthy for you. I feel like this water company really takes the time to think of a way to express that to you without words. When i looks at this label i automatically think of something Healthy and that if i drink this type of water i will be healthy. I really enjoy the little people logo and the colors i think that, that is what brings out the name of the water.
6.Wishing upon stars ? that is very interesting to me how the Make a Wish Foundation made a refrigerator magnet that was shaped like a star. To me that is very neat, when we think about it, the kids in this program are actually wishing for something, when we think of wishes they are usually done at night looking up at the stars. This is one of my favorite magnets simply because it is very simple and in a few words it makes you feel like you have done something to help out a young child out there with dreams .

7.Trying to order food cam be complicated specially since there are variety of restaurants that offer the same type of food , the only difference is that some make it better than order. When it comes to pizza Domino's is my favorite overall , because of the logo. i like this thing because it tells you exactly what you are looking for the number is right on the front with big numbers so we cant miss it when we are looking for it. the address is also on there which is really helpful when ordering pizza and is ordered as a pick up and not delivery, also to make sure that its close to your house and not far away.

8. Being Sick is very stressful specially trying to call in at work to inform your employee that you will not be in. what a better way than to have an emergency hotline for the employers to call which makes it more quick and easy, I really enjoy this card because the number is what stands out the most and the last thing at you want to do when your sick is struggle to find the number to call your employee at . I think that this is very easy and also the colors go well with the rest of the things that are on the card. not only can to you call that number to inform someone of your illness but also to find out about weather conditions that may result in the company shutting down.

9. As i explained above sick can be stressful trying to find a doctor that will accept your insurance can be more stressful i really like how primera Blue cross blue shield offers a 24 hours nurse line that is there to help you with you non emergency health issue. I think that this is very useful specially since you can start felling sick at any point and may not be sick enough to go to the hospital but still don't know what to do. This company made it easy for you to be able to see the numbers and all the information you need to access the nurse line at any point in time.
10. Our pets are very important to each of us that is why we always want to take them to a vet that will take the best care of them. this card really works well with its purpose because banfield is there to take care of your pet and to make sure that they get the proper attention required. It is very easy to contact them whenever you need them it provides the address another information required.

Sustainable Design

• Sustainable design : is the art of designing physical objects and the built environment to comply with the principles of economic, social, and ecological sustainability.
  
• My working definition : As i have looked thorough several journals and read things about sustainable design i developed my own definition, to me it means using design techniques to improve our ecosystem that being with the paints and furniture we use, Even though that we are trying to improve our Eco system by going green and using economic tactics we can still keep the same thoughts and ideas you just have to put more thought onto your designs. I think that as we progress using sustainable design will come naturally to us. Who ever thought that milk could be used as paint, well there is such a thing. Milk combined with limestone and natural pigments. Using this type of paint really helps the environment a lot because this combined does not cause air pollutants to damage the Ozone. I think that all the paint should be replace with this kind even though it only has 20 different colors to it. Overall i really enjoy this type of paint and i think it is a good thing to start putting out in the market, not only does it not cause pollution but it also is good on furniture and interior places.
  
  
  

The Flexilove chair is made with recyclable materials such are Honeycomb and other products that can recycled over and over. Not only is it healthy for the environment but it also stretches to fit any where from one person to sixteen people. I think that this design is really interesting, i really like how it is made of complete recyclable material that wont harm the environment. Overall I really want a chair like this one above because it seems very comfortable and you can store it easily if you need too.







1. This house above belongs to Amy and Bob Tait, during their trip to Australia they fell in love with this design. Not only is it a great design but it is very "green," meaning that everything in it is used of recyclable material that can be used over and over. Even though this house is said to be green they still have the most modern appliances such as the Dishwasher, Washer and Dryer, to be able to have those appliances they had to reduce their heat, to solve that problem they installed solar panels at an angle on the roof those panels are supported six photovoltaic cells mounted on a disused shipping container parked in a sunny clearing a few feet away from the house. I think that this house is a great example of what we are doing to try to make the world better, even though we have started and a few people are trying to go green i still think that more people need to get involved.

Products

The bed is very uniquely set up inside a house of its very own. It even has stairs designed like patio stairs leading up to the top bed. I think that this bed was targeted more towards 5 year old other than older kids. one thin g that really catches my eye is the colors on this bed i like how they are all pastel they make you feel calm and relaxed. One thing that i don't really like about this bed is the age group that it is target towards, what is going to happen when the little girl grows up and she decides she does not want this anymore?



The chairs above are very interesting. i like the was they are mounted it looks almost like a "u" resting on top of another "u." this is neat to me because it is something that we are not accustom to seeing everyday, they have a very elegant yet comfortable look, they also seem very heavy to move around. I think that these chairs would look great in an office space not in a home.

When i look at this type of chair, i want to think of the white house. That is because in my mind i think that those types of chairs would be in the white house. Ever since i was growing up i never liked these types of chairs they look very uncomfortable, they always seemed scary to me for some odd reason, and to this day i still don't like these chairs there is something about them that i don't like and i really don't know what it is.
This bed has a marble finish to it. typically i don't like seeing this type of finish on bedding items because i think it actually takes away from the bed itself, most of the furniture that does have the marble is usually out in the living room or the table furniture. With this bed i think that the marble does go well with this room. also the colors in the room also help make the bed stand out more.

This chair looks great, whenever i see these types of chairs it always attracts my attention simply because i really like the design , If i had a chair like this i think that i would put it on the end of a bed just because that is where i feel like it goes well.

This table and chairs are very interesting i have never seen anything like this, it is also something that we do not see every day and to me that is what makes it stand out more. I like the fact that it is not a typical chair either it has 6 legs instead of 4 legs , also they are all tied together at the bottom and at the top they have a unique design.

This bed looks like it is made of a soft material which makes it seem very comfortable. but even though it seems comfortable and cozy i don't like the way it looks. the covers in the bed also make it look very relaxing and soothing. but other than that there is not much that i like about this bed.

Ralph Lauren has a wonderfull sculpure in the architectural Diegest magazine, this artifact really caught my eye because of the way it is set up it looks like the bottom part is a candel holding a dice on top. i really enjoy the strippes around the bottom part of the artifact. i think that the colors really do work well with earch other they compliment each other.

Interior Journals

Fendi has a Layout spread that i really enjoy looking at. their is something about this composition that makes it look amazing. The chair, table and center piece all have different patterns on them this all makes the place stand out everything individually even the handle on the chair makes it look elegant.
This kitchen space is very space full. i really like how the walls and the furniture all combine together. one thing i really like looking at is the pattern on the on the counters. i like how they used both shades of brown. i don't really don't like how they used black and Brown together I feel like it doesn't go well together. This interior space looks very different than what i am accustom to seeing, i cant really decide if i like this space or not. I really enjoy seeing this space because it is very open and i like things that are open and have space. The reason why i don't like this space is because i don't like how they have branches and the bench looks as if it is a tree branch.

It is very interesting how the designers decided to make this space outside. even though it is outside the space looks great . This space would look great is it was in a beach house or somewhere warm.
this bedroom looks very elegant , i like the Way the colors are set up and the furniture looks combined everything looks great almost like a celebrities bedroom. the way the bed is just resting on top of the base , and it is something that we do not see in an everyday basis.

In this space above the ceiling is way to high and it makes every thing seem very big and out of proportion also the rooms looks every cluttered because the magazines and computer is all over the room. also the chair is out of place and so are the cushions. all that makes the place look messy and what they are trying to advertise does not look appealing.
the glass hanging from the sides of the entrance of the living room give it a private . i can not distinct if this place is residential or commercial it looks like both. . the furniture and space is all very thought out and every thing looks great. i would really enjoy spending time in that space.

Lacava has very interesting space. I really enjoy the black counter and the border around the mirror. one thing that really stands out the most was the sink i really enjoy how it is just resting on the black counter. the more i look at this space it makes me want to have one too. this is something that i really want to have now when i have my own house.
I really dont like interior above. I think that this space would look so much better if the sinks and the windows were much closer together and they had more to them. i dont think that this makes for an elegant place at all . the thing that i enjoy the most is the colors because they are very calming and relaxing.

In the Dwell magazine there is an interior space that best buy is using to advertise their products. The interior that they are advertising is really neat. the living room is very well all combined. The colors and the furniture all match with the carpet . the window really makes the place bright and full of energy. overall even though this is just to advertise products like the TV , every thing is very well set up and interesting.
